Overview
HK-3006 Softening Point of Asphalt (Ring-and-Ball test apparatus) the ASTM D36 standard Test Method for Softening Point of Bitumen (Ring-and-Ball apparatus). The apparatus covers the determination of the softening point of bitumen in the range form 30 to 157°C (86 to 315°F) using the ring-and ball apparatus immersed in distilled water (30° to 80°C) or USP glycerin (above 80 to 157°C).
Features
· The apparatus is composed by bracket, which is made up by upper support plate- mid-support and lower support plate, test cup, steel ball, flask and thermometer

Technical Parameters
· Test cup: Small part ɸ19±0.1mm, large part ɸ23-1.0mm, height 6.4±0.1mm
· Steel ball locater: Covers on brass billet, the other three locating studs control the steel ball to fall freely in the middle of the test cup through the gap over the locating studs.
· Standard ball: Diameter ɸ9.5mm, weight 3.50g ±0.05g
· Bracket: it gets two pivots to contact upper support plate, mid-support plate and lower support plate and fix the distance 25mm. On the pivots, 51mm from mid-support plate there is a mark of scribed line which
· Flask: Volume 800ml, diameter is about ɸ90mm, height is over 140mm
· Thermometer: suitable to the standard of GB514-83, complete immersion, bar type 30~180ᵒC, scale division 0.5ᵒC
